New Year’s Resolutions and Big Lifestyle Changes

21st January 2022
2022… what will you have in store for us?! With now almost two years of the coronavirus pandemic it’s somewhat still difficult to predict, but one thing that is for certain is my life is on the verge of changing quite significantly as me and my husband are set to become parents for the very first time!

Our daughter is due in just a couple of weeks (or at any moment in theory…!) so whilst I sit here slightly uncomfortably writing this post, I am feeling a whole host of emotions - from excitement and anticipation, to being tired and not really knowing what to expect yet from my ‘new life’. What I can be certain about is that it will have lots of new challenges ahead but also so many rewards!

As for my photography, I expect I will need to take a little step back as I navigate my new role as ‘mummy’. I am still planning to get out with my camera as much as I can in the UK and seize the opportunities to travel when possible. Whilst I don’t expect to be riding through the Sahara Desert on a camel or fighting through crowds in Old Delhi again for a few more years to come, I feel plenty of staycations photographing the beautiful UK landscape and perhaps a few European city breaks might be on the cards - fingers crossed! As for new year’s resolutions, my aim is to enjoy my photography this year as often as I get the chance and not to get frustrated when I can’t get out as often as I might ordinarily like - let’s face it, photography will always be in my life but time will be precious as I no doubt watch my daughter quickly grow up! I have big plans for my website too!

May I take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support, especially over the next year, and wish you a very happy, healthy and hopefully coronavirus-free 2022!
